Osnat (Ossi) Mokryn
Dr. Osnat (Ossi) Mokryn is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Haifa, where she leads the Social, AI and Networks (SCAN) Lab. Her research examines how expectations shape both human–AI interaction and data interpretation. She studies human–AI teaming in design and decision-making, including collaboration under stress in high-stakes settings such as emergency response, and develops computational and visualization methods for surfacing absences in data—what is missing, underrepresented, or unexpectedly absent relative to what should be there. Her work connects human-centered AI, decision support, and absence-aware data analysis.
Dr. Mokryn is Chair of the ACM Intelligent User Interfaces (IUI) Steering Committee and Chair of the M.Sc. program in Human–Computer Interaction in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Haifa. She has received research funding from the Israel Science Foundation, the Israel Ministry of Science, and industry partners. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. From 2022 to 2024, she was a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
